Listen to your PDFs, word for word.

Yapify is an iPhone app that reads a PDF aloud and highlights each word as it's read. It's made for the reading students have to get through: lecture slides, course readings and research papers.

What it reads well

Lecture slides: Headings, chapters and pages are kept, so you always know where you are. Listening to lecture slides
Research papers: Citations like [13], footnotes and web addresses are skipped while you listen. Tap one to hear it. Listening to research papers
Scanned handouts: Pages that are only a picture of text are read too. Listening to scanned PDFs
Textbooks: Chapter by chapter, with Contents to jump around and your place kept. Listening to textbooks
Text from anywhere: Paste it from a website, an email or your notes.

How it works

Choose a PDF, or paste text.
It starts reading in seconds. The rest is prepared while you listen.
Follow the highlighted word, or lock your phone and keep going. It picks up where you stopped.
